Defeated

So during my 9-5 weekday I also go to college full time except it’s completely online and mostly self paced and self taught. I’ve been doing this for over half a year now and have gained speed except for one class that feels like the bar is so high to pass it’s too high for me. I have failed the practice exam by 16 questions out of 70 and on the actual exam you need to miss less than 8 out of 70 to pass the class. The class in question is algebra. I am in my 30s and i didn’t do well with math even in high school. I am nearly too far in to quit college but I still have 24 classes to go to even graduate. I’m defeated today. I am trying by using school resources and out of school resources. I have set an appointment with an instructor in hopes of better understanding but I fear it won’t help. I wonder if even getting a college degree will be in vain anyways? What did you do when you felt defeated?
