Writing is built skill just like any other such as learning a musical instrument or playing a sport. You have to learn to get better at it. Over the years of writing I realize a lot of my early works isn’t good and that’s absolutely okay! Nothing is perfect but you will eventually reach that storyteller voice you have always wanted. Last night I was going through an iPad I was about to reset for my husband and found a story I had started writing it only written into chapter three and I started reading it out loud and I found that I loved how the story sounded coming from me. Now if you’re like me if it comes from your own mouth you think it’s trash and for once I didn’t think it sounded like trash. That little bit took years of writing to hear the storyteller I have always wanted to be. To be proud of what I had written before it has even gotten into the readers hands. This story itself is a mix between vampires and the Bridgerton era and it sounded exactly like it ought to. Now I still have two other books to finish writing, both are also vampire stories in itself and I found it’s ok to have a certain niche to write about. Some people like writing about real life or dragons but I like vampires and mixing them with royalty. No storyteller is the same and no one is perfect right out of the box. It’s ok if success takes a minute.
