Sometimes it pays off

I lay in bed and I think about my future just like anyone else. Earlier this week I received an email with a notice of a small royalty for two of my books that sold. I was so happy that two more had sold and I had gained another reader or two. I do not advertise or sell my books in bookstores. I’m a nobody author. I’m not a traditional published author but an indie author but still an author because my books sell and they sell all over the world. After seeing which books had sold I had decided I would do a lifetime search of how many I had sold in the last 9 years. I was stunned when a little nobody author like me sold 87 books! I couldn’t believe it. 87 of my books are out in the world somewhere. My legacy will life on and I realize while my degree may be the most mundane thing I’ll ever achieve. My work as a writer will be my greatest accomplishment. Sometimes that truly is my biggest pay off and that is what keeps me going. I’ll keep writing because someone out there apparently will read my work. The last book I wrote before my father passed away was Blood Reign and that sold the most copies and I’m so proud of it because that’s where I learned what type of book and genre I’d like to keep writing and apparently I’m right where I belong. I’ll be writing.

Copies of my books that I’ve sold.
